2006 GDAHA Economic Impact Report
DESCRIPTION: Working in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati, GDAHA produced the 2006 Economic Impact Report to examine the impact of non-profit hospitals on the Dayton economy. With an impact of $2.54 billion and 58,541 jobs, hospitals are among the most influential entities in the Dayton area.

CMS Contingency Policy for NPI Deadline
DESCRIPTION: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that it is implementing a contingency plan for covered entities (other than small health plans) that will not meet the May 23, 2007, deadline for compliance with the National Provider Identifier regulations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Those facilities putting forth a "Good faith effort" to comply will not be subjected to any penalties. More information can be found in this PDF document.
CMS NPI Medicare Implementation Presentation
DESCRIPTION: An early presentation by CMS with an overview of the NPI process. It has some nice timelines showing when codes should be used for various forms and submissions. Also included is some information showing what would cause claims to be rejected. This is a good starting point when learning about the NPI.
Employer's Health Coalition of Ohio Quality Rankings (2006)
DESCRIPTION: The Employer's Health Coaltion of Ohio (EHC) Rankings by hospital for a number of heart, orthropedic and surgical procedures include Caths, Angioplasty, hip/knee replacement, pneumonia, etc. The ranking are based on a simple star system, from 5 stars to 1. Ohio Department of Job and Family Services NPI Submission
DESCRIPTION: The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) has requested that providers disclose their NPI number to ODJFS. This letter outlines that request and provides information on what should be submitted. Please note that some providers have said ODJFS required their emailed confirmation of the NPI number (from NPPES), even though that is not outlined in this letter.
